Follow your heart

  quit your job

Yep. I did it. I quit my job. I bought a ticket. To Bali. Enrolled to a Yoga Teacher Training. Taking off in a week. I'm following my heart, my intuition. Hard to believe it's actually happening. Seems like I'm telling someone else's story. After dreaming and talking about it for months, I'm finally on the road to my Sunshine path. It took me a while, but here I am, sitting in a cafe, music in my ears, writing this post, my heart beating, I can't help but smile. Oh Bliss! Oh Life!

I'm making the big jump into the unknown.

Scary? Yes.

Excited? Oh yes!

Feeling an intense feeling of freedom running through my body, mind & soul? Hell yeah!

Oh Freedom, you are so precious, so wanted, so present, how good it is to be reunited in your presence.  I dreamed and imagined this moment for quite some time now, but it wasn't an easy road to get there, specially for someone who's not great at decisions making.

All the big decisions I made in my life, I made them while connecting to my heart and following my intuition. To be honest, I often struggle for weeks or months if it is life-changing decisions. I don't work well on setting deadlines, I'd rather go through the different phases- desires, doubts, dreams, fears, confusion, excitement and all the thoughts and feelings in between until clarity appears. It always does. There's always signs that come along the way and confirm the "Yes" you so desperately want to shout. So many questions, so many doubts. I think the biggest barrier I put for myself is fear of my own capacity to rebound no matter what happens. To trust that when you follow your heart and intuition, your life unfolds perfectly and how it should be. I don't believe in failures. It's always a learning experience. Better to take risks to try and reach for your dream then stay in a place where you feel comfortable but far from happy.

Every time I took the leap- when I enrolled in my nutrition coaching courses at IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition) and a few months ago when I decided to leave my job to make space for the next chapter-  certainty arise and it feels like it's meant to be, I am not even sure how I could even doubt for a minute that I wouldn't go for it, this feeling of being aligned with your heart and your true purpose. That's when I know I'm on my sunshine path.

I hope it will inspire some of you to take that leap of faith, jump into the unknown and listen to your calling. It doesn't necessary have to be a big thing like changing career or moving to a new city. It could simply be taking the guitar lessons you always wanted to do, showing up to that dance class, putting your feet back on the ski slopes or start that creative project you always talk about. That thing that is calling you, that when you start thinking about it, your whole body goes into butterfly mode.

As Wayne Dyer said it, "Don't die with the music still in you". There are so many possibilities, so many dreams to realize and passions to find. Life is a beautiful gift. We should treasure it and make the most of it.

I just wanna go on more adventures Be around good energy Connect with people Learn new things Grow

Follow your heart. Follow your intuition. Go do the things you always wanted to do. Don't wait for the perfect moment. Just take the first step and the rest will follow.

I leave you with Preston Smiles and his inspirational video that hopefully will shake you up and lead you to take action! :)

Sail Away. Go Explore. Enjoy Your Freedom.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Mark Twain

Even though I love sharing fun memories on the road with friends, I have to say there is a a sense of freedom that you get to live when you travel alone that is worth experience it, at least once in your life. Here's a few reasons to take the leap and just do it!

Discover the magic outside your comfort zone

It can be scary to pack your bags and go solo on the road. Fear of the unknown is often what blocks us to go after our dreams & desires because we don't know what will happen. We make up stories in our heads of how our decisions could turn out. It's one way of seeing it. You could also instead appreciate the unknown as a new adventure, as a way to spice up your life. We can plan things but in the end we never know for sure if it will go the way we want to, so let go of the need to control and try to just be and live in the present moment. And before you know it, fear changes into excitement. Savor the bliss of not knowing where you'll be the next day or what you'll be doing. You will have to rely on yourself, and this will bring an enormous sense of confidence, courage and trust - that you can indeed do it on your own.

"Two roads diverged in a wood and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." Robert Frost

Oh it's such a special kind of freedom. An overwhelming sense of wanderlust, of  happiness, of being yourself. You're free to go wherever you feel like it. Fly like a bird. Be spontaneous. Go where the wind takes you. Get lost at the market, lose track of time while listening to the sound of waves, spend the day in a hammock while reading a great book, enjoy your company while eating a delicious meal at a cozy cafe with live music.

"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." Jawaharial Nehru

Be your own best friend

"If you're lonely when you're alone. You're in bad company." Jean-Paul Sartre. This quote has always resonated with me. Become your own very best friend. Friends or family aren't always available to travel with you, or maybe they just aren't interested in the same places as you. Don't wait to find someone to do the things you want to do. There are so many amazing things to see in this world. Just go and do it! You will regret not having done them. You will be happily surprised that you can have fun by yourself and it will bring you great joy.

If you make friends with yourself you will never be alone.” Maxwell Maltz

Meet the adventurers

By traveling alone, you'll be more open to meet people on the road with you and start a conversation with a stranger- hopefully you'll choose a friendly one! Lot of people are traveling solo and you'll cross paths with the globetrotters, the wanderers, the dreamers, the gypsies. I always like hearing about their stories. Watch the stars while talking about life and giggle of excitement while making a wish on a shooting star. I had one of the best time with 2 adventurers in Bali where we laughed until our belly hurts. It's these moments.. made out of magic dust.

"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore" Andre Gide

Find your self

Discovering hidden paths, experiencing new things, following your heart and intuition can lead to a deeper understanding of who you are and in the midst of your travel, you can find yourself and fall in love with your life. It happened to me and it lead me to find my passion. While traveling, you let your mind wander, you let your soul speak and serendipity leads you exactly where you need to be. Breathe and sit in stillness while it happens.

"Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself." Unknown

A story that inspire me and makes me want to jump on the next plane... or boat ;)

I'll leave you with this beautiful creative work of art that brings sparkles to my heart & soul.

Happy Freedom!

Let's Rock 2013 and Put Good Vibes into Your Year!

IMG_0749 It's already end of January...time flies! How did you start the year? Any good things happened yet? What about your goals and dreams?

For the first time, I started the year using a workbook to write down my goals, dreams and go into more details about how I want the year to unwrap. There's also a place to say goodbye to 2012 by reminiscing all the magical and memorable moments you had the chance to live. I've been using 2 workbooks- Susannah Conway's "Unravelling The Year Ahead" (you can download it on her website) and Leonie Dawson's "Incredible Calendar". Why 2? I started with one and a friend gave me the other one and just couldn't choose! ;) And I just love love love them! I  really have the feeling of taking control of my life, of my year and by writing my goals on paper, it makes it more real and achievable. It's exciting! What do your really want? How do you want to feel? What do you want to attract? Image

So take an hour, a day or a weekend to enjoy writing your goals for the year, put some music on, light some candles (yes I love candles!) and make it all cozy! A snowy day is perfect to stay warm inside or a sunny day depending where you live, to go sit in the sun with a delicious green smoothie and work on your exciting adventurous year to come!

Dream Big! Let your imagination and creativity take over and create an action plan to live the best magical year and live the life you've been dreaming of! Just go for what makes you happy! Get out of your comfort zone, be grateful and positive and you'll attract good vibes your way! ;)

Happy Goals Day & Happy Amazing Year!

Bye Bye 2012 and Hello 2013!

New Year, New Life!

Happiness - Joy - Health

The New Year is always a perfect time for a fresh start! I love that feeling!

As we're just a few days away from the end of the's nice to look back at the year that has just passed and think about all those precious moments we had the chance to live. What were your highlights? What moments will you remember? What made this year special? Have you accomplished some things that were on your bucket list? It's always nice to reflect on the year and see where you are now and where you want to be next year and start preparing a dream-goal list for 2013. Some of my 2012 highlights:

  • One of my best friend gave birth to a beautiful baby girl
  • Starting my blog
  • My yoga practice
  • Being surrounded by family and friends and spend quality time with them and making memories
  • Enrolling in a health coach program at IIN
  • Having found my passion, following my dream and taking action towards it!

For 2013, I will keep a jar or box where I'll add little notes each time something great happens, so I can open them again on the 31st december 2013 and look back at all the great things that put a smile on my face and made my heart beat faster! ;) I saw this somewhere on the Internet and thought it was a nice idea, as I love visuals!

So what are your goals? What do you want to see happen in the near future? Your wildest dreams? If you think it's about time that things shift in your life than take a first step and jump! Create a vision board, brainstorm ideas and start making a plan with goals and steps to achieve it. I like writing and seeing it on papers. It makes it more real. I don't want to talk about resolutions because studies have shown ..and no surprise to that, that we don't keep our resolutions. It's often due to a lack of clarity of what we exactly want and the steps to move towards that goal. Try to go deeper and see the real reason why you want something, so you may have a better chance to keep your goals on track. I love my vision board as I am reminded every day of my dreams & goals.

Here's a quick overview of my 2013 goals:

  • Start my Health Coaching practice
  • Find which food-diet is best for my body
  • More travels & adventures
  • Improve my photography skills
  • Add creativity to my life
  • Finding inspiration in books, people & friends
  • Keep a daily/weekly yoga & meditation practice
  • Keep taking action steps to my wildest dreams

What were your 2012 highlights and what are your goals for the new year? Would love to hear about it!

That's my 3 words I want to focus for next year:

What's yours?

Happy end of 2012! And remember to follow your heart!

Thanks for all your lovely comments and for reading my blog. You always make my day! :)

Vision board or how to visualize your goals

"Every thought we think is creating our future" Louise Hay

On this rainy weekend, what better way then stay warm & cozy at home, sipping a ginger-lemon tea with good music and work on my vision board!

Visions boards are a great way to set goals, brainstorm ideas and visualize affirmations and intentions. It's basically a cardboard (I used a corkboard) where you put photos, words,  quotes, mantras, affirmations, places that speaks to you, that you dream of, that you would like to see happens in your life, people that inspire you. Nothing better than a visual to make it more real. Positive image plays an important role in the realization of your goals and dreams.

A nice little project for a cold fall/winter sunday afternoon. Get cozy and comfy, put some music on, light some candles with a warm cup of tea. Enjoy this "me" time! Or why not make this a girl friends activity? Grab some magazines, newspapers and go through them, have a look on Pinterest.  Make a nice collage. You can create categories like Love, Career, Relationships, Travels, Wellness/ Health or just follow what your heart picks in the magazines. Try to be original and find what you truly wish to see happen in your life. Where do you picture yourself in the next few months and in the next year? Try to use this time to reflect on your achievements and future goals and what you truly would want to see happen. The year is soon coming to an end, and it's a great project to start 2013 full of ideas, dreams right in front of your eyes when you wake up!

Be creative and let your heart speak!

Have you ever created a vision board? What do you put on it? Share your goals! :)

Happy Weekend!
