Bliss Balls

A little something to brighten your winter day!

These bliss balls were the first sweet treats I made when I started making some changes in my food lifestyle a few years ago. And they're still one of my favorites. I often make them for my wild-hearted sessions and everyone loves them so I'm finally putting the recipe up on the blog.

It's super easy to make them and takes like 5 minutes to prepare. Bliss balls are nourishing, energizing and will give you a little boost after a workout or as a healthy snack in the afternoon.

Pecans and especially almonds are one of the highest in nutrients. They contain high levels of minerals and vitamins.  Rich in healthy fats (monounsaturated fats), which is needed for the body. They contain oleic acid which helps to lower the bad cholesterol (LDL), packed with vitamin E- which is great for a glowing skin. Almonds contain a lot of calcium to strengthen bones and teeth. They reduce heart attack risks and other heart diseases. They also boost brain activity and improve the function of the nervous system.

Dates are rich in minerals and vitamins and help with digestion issues and promotes healthy bowel movement. The natural sugar is a good source of energy and the high amount of minerals is good for bone health and development. The potassium boost the nervous system and your heart's health.

- 1 cup of medjool dates - 1 cup of pecan nuts or almonds - 1 tsp of cinnamon / speculaas spices / or raw cacao powder

+ Remove the pits in the dates.

+ Put the pecan nuts, dates and spices in a food processor. Pulse until the mixture get sticky.

+ Use your hands to roll them into balls. You can also roll them in coconut flakes.

That's it. So you see. Less than 5 minutes. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge if you managed to not eat everything before. They taste even better when a bit cold.

The ones with cacao powder just taste like brownies. Just sayin' !

A bliss day to you!
